This remake is an interesting one as the song only came out a couple years ago. This was a track from Meghan Trainor's 2016 album “Thank You” and was a duet with rapper “Lunch Money Lewis”. It's a really fun, uplifting dance tune about respecting yourself. To be totally honest, my son and daughter were really encouraging me to record this one for the new album (a challenge I accepted!).

The song is a little “out of my element” and style but I always liked it when I first heard it. Once I was able to get the instrumentation recorded I couldn't think of anyone else than Dani Heinert to sing the duet with me. I got to know Dani this past year while in the band “The Look” together – she has an awesome vibrato to her voice that is perfect for this song. She poured a lot of excitement into her vocal tracks on this and I absolutely loved the way it turned out. (and yes - I love me on this song as well . . . )
